We worked with Matic to relaunch it’s brand, website, mobile app, content and much more to pioneer Matic in the home appliance space.

Goal

Position Matic as a Pioneer in the Home Appliance Space

Matic is the world’s first fully autonomous home cleaning robot that not only auto-toggles between mopping and vacuuming but also maps your home, using AI technology, to quietly clean without supervision. We worked with Matic to relaunch it’s brand, website, mobile app, content and much more to pioneer Matic in the home appliance space.
Outcome

Powering Matic’s Launch with Strategy, Story, and Design

Red Antler’s brand idea, “Perfect is Always in Progress,” guided the creation of a bold and forward-thinking identity for Matic. We developed a distinctive visual and verbal system—spanning tone, brand, content, site design, app design, and more. In close collaboration with teams across strategy, brand, and digital, we crafted an immersive app experience that guides users from their first interaction with the product through to its everyday use, ensuring they unlock the full potential of Matic’s innovative features. To support launch and drive conversion, we also designed a dynamic e-commerce site that highlights Matic’s unique capabilities and compels users to purchase.
As a core feature of the Matic app, the Active Cleaning Mode was designed with intentional functionality across all user states to ensure a seamless and informative experience.
To showcase Matic’s smart cleaning capabilities, we designed a unique user flow that highlights how it navigates rooms; whether through manual room selection, candid drawings, or pre-defined routes.
The app’s navigation highlights five key flows for getting the most out of Matic: Current View, Saved Routes, Scheduled Routes, Activity, and Settings. Within each section, we carefully considered all possible user states and edge cases to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience.
With Matic’s complex controls, it was crucial to build a design system that is organized, purposeful, and consistent, ensuring functionality and clarity across every interaction within the app.
To create a cohesive brand and digital experience, the e-commerce website extended Matic’s key visuals and UI elements, building a unified brand world that educated users about the product’s innovation and guided them toward purchase.
Pain Points
The robot is the primary method through which people will interact with Matic, with the app allowing for deeper customization and user-driven instruction → this means we need to message the robot first and foremost and treat the app more like a secondary experience.

We want to make sure we make it clear that you are directing Matic through commands, gestures, voice, etc. to really set it apart from Roomba - it isn’t just autonomously roving around looking for messes, it works with you to be even more intelligent

We’ll need to balance Matic’s smart tech / AI / personalization with the promise of privacy. How can we make home scanning and autonomous cleaning NOT feel scary?
Target Audience
Busy parents with chaotic households: Motivated parents juggling jobs, kids, and/or pets, often pressed for time. They like their homes neat and may have professional cleaning. A clean home lets them unwind and experience peace-of-mind.

Key Message
Offload all your cleaning needs onto Matic — the intuitive, autonomous home cleaning robot that factors in your home, your preferences, and your lifestyle to intelligently give you a deeper clean, every time.
As mobile remains a key touchpoint for users on the go, it was essential to design a mobile experience that delivers the same distinct and immersive feel as the desktop version.
To reflect Matic’s intelligence, we incorporated micro-animations and subtle movement throughout the site, bringing its technology to life in a dynamic way that communicated key value props with less reliance on copy.
We moved away from the conventional 2-up product detail page layout, aiming for a more distinctive design that breaks from typical e-commerce patterns, giving Matic more space to shine and better reflect its innovation.
Through thoughtful content and animation, we brought UI elements from the app into the desktop experience, creating a cohesive and connected brand world across platforms.
Prototyping
Each round of design, across both the mobile app and e-commerce experience, was presented in a Figma prototype within a presentation deck, ensuring every interaction and design element accurately reflected the intended live behavior and user flow.
Collaboration
With Matic’s in-house developers, our teams were able to collaborate closely through regular client presentations and informal syncs, ensuring seamless alignment between design and execution. As a long-term partnership, our consistent internal team structure allowed for ongoing collaboration, enabling us to launch a cohesive and high-performing brand across all touch points of the Matic experience.
